Ben Adams
Associate Director

I joined Record in early December 2016 after graduating from the University of York where I studied Economics & Finance. I am a Portfolio Specialist and am responsible for the day-to-day portfolio management of our currency, cash, and equitisation programmes and for providing the Trading team with all relevant information needed for the execution of trades. I enjoy the problem solving aspect of the job the most.

The firm operates in a very open manner, which I feel encourages a collegiate working environment. Even as a junior employee, there is significant exposure to senior management; and I feel my opinion is valued as much as anyone else’s. From a social standpoint, I think it is great that Record organises so many activities and events for its staff. There was a company trip to Spain in 2017 – things like this definitely add a lot to the experience of working at Record, and promote a healthy work-life balance. Record supports employees in pursuing relevant exams and qualifications; I have passed my FCA exams, and am now considering starting the CFA qualification. I really get the impression that Record values my personal development.

I joined Record in September 2016 after completing a Masters in Engineering at the University of Oxford, specialising in Electronics and Materials. Having completed an internship with Record the previous summer, I joined the Quantitative Research team amongst other Masters and PhD graduates. My role was to investigate investment strategies for foreign exchange markets as well as produce research for conferences and client requests. I now work in our Senior Management Team supporting the sales and marketing efforts of the business.

Record is an empowering place to work, and having already been to New York on a work placement and experienced facetime with clients, the opportunities to learn and develop a huge range of skills come from the flexibility available and responsibility awarded here at Record.
