Concerns about costs and predatory trading have initiated the need for a public consultation on how the WM/Refinitiv fixing window operates

Refinitiv have launched a public consultation on the way that the benchmark operates due to concerns about high trading costs and the negative impact of predatory trading activities which can lead to worse prices for investors. We are seeing an increase in trading in the lead up and during the 4pm window as speculators are trying to profit from the WM based currency moves, and this means that the true overall cost is much higher and is very hard to measure. Record’s Nathan Vurgest, Head of Trading offers his opinion.
